Have discovered that we have very hard water and am wondering if this can cause problems with our critters. Calcium is the major culprit; no iron at least. Anyone got the lowdown?

Re: Hard water
Wed, February 4, 2009 - 11:04 AMI do not recommend tap water for any critters. They manifest side effects much faster than we do, due to their smaller size and shorter lifespan.
For your critters and your family - do yourself a favor and get a quality filtration system - they range from about $50 for a simple kitchen sink to many thousand for whole house. READ what each filter does and go with the most filtration you can afford. If not, use a Britta Pitcher for the pet's water bowl.
Good Luck. -
