Re: pet washing machine
Wed, May 14, 2008 - 9:50 AMI agree... that is pretty horrible.
Cats have tongues to clean themselves, they don't need baths, that's a human invention.
They looked really stressed and traumatized... I like that the news guy went in it, he was a good sport.

I just hope it's a fake. I can't imagine people actually doing that...

Thu, May 15, 2008 - 6:50 AMA local vet has something really similar: www.allpethospital.com/petspa.aspx
I agree watching those cats.....well, they didn't look very happy, and I really don't see much of a need to wash a cat.
Of course, my dogs never seem really happy when they have to come into the shower with us for their baths.... -

Re: pet washing machine
Thu, May 15, 2008 - 11:33 PMAfter washing Ella yesterday, I realize what a good dog she is. She doesn't like the bath, but she gets in the tub, stands there while I wash her with sad look on her face, and then goes completely crazy when we are done. Like freaking out, running and playing and jumping all over the place. Very amusing.
I dont think a washing machine would go over too well with her, but I bet she would do it because I wanted her too.
I don't want her too, of course.

Wed, May 21, 2008 - 11:48 AM^^^ that sounds like my jiffy. stands there and looks sad. then run all over like crazy afterwards. he's his own hair dryer
the only reason i can see putting a cat in a washing machine like that was if they were absolutly covered in something like sticky or something. and that's pretty unlinkely i'd say -

Re: pet washing machine
Wed, May 21, 2008 - 3:19 PMThat's what Phoebe LaRue does too. And I thought she was special. Oh well.
When we first got Phebes (she was a rescue dog with a mysterious, checkered past), baths were a traumatic experience. Her whole body quaked with fear until it was over. Now she just looks put-upon until we're done. Then she capers with joy, flips onto her back and slides around the carpet to dry off the excess.
Still, she never enters the bathroom willingly, as though it's a torture chamber of horrors. Sometimes she forgets herself and bolts in only to remember where she is and backstep out ever so cautiously. -

Re: pet washing machine
Thu, May 22, 2008 - 11:31 PMElla doesn't flip on her back unless its to rub herself in something unspeakable in the grass, which is usually how the baths occur. You'd think she would get the whole cause and effect thing worked out, but alas... dog brains only project so far into the future, it would seem..
